Make the most of your event

Now you have chosen your Morning Tea day, you’ve promoted your event and planned your catering – go ahead and share the good times with your guests!  Where and how you host your Morning Tea and how high or low-key an event it is – the choice is all yours.  We’ve got loads of great ideas and resources to help make your Morning Tea a success!

Fundraising is an important part of Oxfam's Morning Tea. By taking part, you and your guests will raise vital funds towards Oxfam's work helping people lift themselves out of poverty. Every dollar you raise counts towards helping build a fairer, safer and more sustainable world.

Remember to ask for money. It’s simple – a gold coin donation for coffee/tea and cake. Use your Morning Tea moneybox from your host pack to collect gold coin donations.

Your personal fundraising page

Make your host page the hub of your fundraising activities. You can personalise it with photos and blogs, and send the link to your friends and family so they can view your progress, donate online using our secure credit card facility, and leave you messages of support. Here is some advice on how to write a great fundraising story for your host page.

Get baking

Everyone knows that Morning Tea isn’t just tea! Treat your guests to some baking using fair trade sugar, cocoa or dried fruit. Try out some of our yummy recipes and bake up a fair trade storm.

Nadia Lim and Robert Oliver have created some delicious fair trade recipes especially for you and your guests.

Make it fun

There’s lots of quirky fundraising ideas and useful materials to download to help you on your way.

The sooner we receive the proceeds from your Morning Tea, the sooner we can put the money to work. The easiest way to do this is to direct your guests to your online Morning Tea page. To find out more about sending in your donations go to the paying in your money section.

And remember to say ‘thank you!’ from us as you and your guests are making a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world.
